Meet Our Members

Concertmaster, Violin I
Shulynn Ragland
Shulynn Ragland is a junior at John Burroughs School. This is her 12th year of violin under the instruction of Joe Kaminsky. Growing up, she has played with all four levels of Community Music School of Webster University’s orchestra programs for over 8 years. For the past two years, she has served as the assistant concertmaster of the Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra, recently performing at Carnegie Hall. Additionally, she has been part of Metropolitan Orchestra of St Louis’s Share the Stand program since middle school. Along with the violin, she dedicates much of her time to competitive figure skating.

Violin I
Maheeka Dhokarh
Maheeka Dhokarh is a sophomore at Clayton High School. She has studied violin since the age of 5, and later picked up the piano at age 10. Throughout these years, Maheeka has attended many music festivals across the country, such as Apple Hill, the Illinois Chamber Music Festival, and many more. She has performed in the Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra at CMS, has had the opportunity to perform at the Missouri Music Educators Conference, and received an honorable mention in the Missouri All State Orchestra.

Principal, Violin II
Elizabeth Hung
Elizabeth Hung is a junior at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. She began playing violin at the age of four under the instruction of Nora Teipen and Joe Kaminsky. Hung has participated in multiple ensembles including the orchestras at Webster Community Music School, the Preparatory Program, the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra, and the Missouri All-State Orchestra. Since 2021, she has also been a member of the Metropolitan Orchestra of
St. Louis' “Share the Stand” program.

Violin II
Evan Ragland
Evan Ragland is a Freshman at John Burroughs High School. He began playing violin at the age of 3, being taught by Mr. Joe Kaminsky. He also started playing the piano at age 7. Having a deep love for music, he has participated in many orchestras and competitions, such as YPCO and YPSO (Young Peoples Concert and Symphonic Orchestra of Webster) and MOSL (Metropolitan Orchestra of St. Louis) as a “share the stand” student. He has participated in the MTNA state competitions in 2023 and 2024, and is on track to win the President’s Cup for the NFMC (National Federation Music Clubs). He also enjoys playing the trumpet in his school band, where he has had many fun solos.

Principal, Viola
Sadie Ulrich
Sadie Ulrich is a Junior at Clayton High School. She has studied viola since 8th grade under Chris Tantillo. Sadie first began her musical journey at age 6 on the violin. A year later she picked up playing piano. Then, after a shortage of violas in her school orchestra, she stepped up and switched to the viola. Over the years, Sadie has had the opportunity to perform at the Missouri Music Educators Association conference, play in the Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra at the CMS, and been selected as an alternate for the
St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.

Principal, Cello
Andrew Su
Andrew Su is a sophomore at Clayton High School. He started cello when he was 9 years old under the instruction of James Czyzewski, a member of the St. Louis Symphony. He has played in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra since 2022. Andrew is a member of the Tri-M Honors Music Society and plays in his school’s symphonic orchestra. He has also won gold in the 2024 SLAMTA Young Artist Competition and has performed in the 2024 Missouri All-State Orchestra. Andrew has enriched his cello skills and experience through various programs at the Community Music School of Webster University, including String Orchestra, Young People’s Concert Orchestra, Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra, and the Preparatory program. Outside of playing the cello, Andrew enjoys playing tennis and drawing.

Cello
Aiden Kim
Aiden Kim is a sophomore at Clayton High School. He has studied cello since the age of 10 under Dr. Jun Seo at the Community Music School of Webster University (CMS). Aiden began his musical journey at age 6 on the piano. Four years later, inspired to explore a string instrument alongside piano, he took up the cello—a decision that has since shaped his musical path. Over the years, Aiden has been recognized in the Missouri Music Teachers Association (MMTA) state competition with Honorable Mention, Runner-Up, and Winner awards in the string solo division. He has also had the opportunity to perform at the Missouri Music Educators Association conference, and play in the Missouri All State Orchestra, Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra at the CMS, and the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.
